If I had to give up one sense, it would be no contest.

For the third time this week, I took Cora (left, in spider costume) and Bubba (visiting dog, right) out for a walk and a manure truck immediately plopped down the road past our house, making the rest of the walk rather unpleasant for me.

I can't quite put my finger on the metaphor for the state of Maine, but I know it's in there.

CURRENT MUSIC: Hounds of Love by Kate Bush.
CURRENT MOOD: A little nauseated.
CURRENT PRODUCT ANTI-ENDORSEMENT: Right Guard Sport Stick deodorant is for shit. Don't ask how I know or what I smell like.

If you lost your sense of smell, your food wouldn't taste so good....

Honestly, I don't care much about my food. I don't think you're wrong, of course, but I eat for sustenance, but if we had Jetsons-style Food-a-Rack-a-Cycles that dispensed pills, I would be thrilled about the time-saving component there.

I know it's strange, especially since I spend so much time watching Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, The Next Food Network Star, Iron Chef America, and other cooking shows, but I think of food as more of an inconvenience than a reward. I'd rather spend the money on CDs.

And also, I think I'm conscious of more negative smells than positive ones. We have a lot of paper mills up here. :)

Looks like Cora's seriously plotting revenge this time. ; )

Sorry about the manure. No fun.

have you tried mitchum? in my, uh, family, my sis and i are known to be, well, strong, and that brand seems good. my sister uses "lady mitchum," and i've used both the types for women and for men--kinda liking piney scents as i do. (see, i would have associated maine with piney scents, and not so much manure scents.)

I do know lots of people who swear by Mitchum. (My dad, for instance, will use nothing but Lady Mitchum.) I'm a Speed Stick guy myself; I just bought the Right Guard because the store was out of the kind I like. Never again.
